Noise.io's megademo published (4 minutes of beta presets) plus we decided to publish one of the "for-own-use" videos covering the interface and creating presets.
Dear visitors - you will find all the answers to your questions on the new version of Noise.io's website which will go online on the 3rd of October.
20 September 2008
In order to prove that Noise.io is real, alive and kicking, we published some audio demos of Noise.io as we finally got the sequencers working right.
19 September 2008
Dear Visitors, We're fully aware that shifting the release date wasn't too nice.
We're really sorry for that but we assure you that users would only benefit from that. We're working very hard and doing our best.
The implementation of sequencers (3 types of sequencers - pitch sequencer, trance gate, custom modulation) - made us to rewrite the whole sound engine from scratch.
And then we started facing memory limitations so we had to rewrite Noise.io once again. The whole story of Noise.io is a story of trial and error. This is our first app for iPhone and we want it to be perfect. Please try to understand that and give us a couple more weeks.
BTW The new site will be available really soon. This is the last news message in this version of the site.
Thank you once again. Do not hesitate to contact us though mail: dev@noise.io.
25 August 2008
We have to shift the release of Noise.io to September 2008 due to several reasons :-( First real screenshots published! Also, tomorrow we'll start filming our Videos.
20 August 2008
Okay we're making the final steps to the release... We've redesigned the interface for the 8th time and are currently modifying the synth to fit the new skin & gimmicks. As soon as we finish with that, we will post the REAL SCREENSHOTS :-) See you soon!
12 August 2008
We're still working day and night, in order to make the release to 25th August! And we will even introduce many new features which haven't been mentioned in the initial press-release... Okay, we'll tell you one of the new features: that's "Stereo Wide" function :-)
11 August 2008
Noise.io is gaining popularity! So many sites wrote about our synth that we even can't list them all at the press page.
Good news: our YouTube video has got 16,000 views in 3 days, and the relevant article got dugg 800 times!
08 August 2008
In conjunction with NoiseAddicts.com we've recorded a small video preview of Noise.io feauturing Control Surface!
Those sounds were recorded in real-time straight from iPod Touch running Noise.io v.09beta. NO post-processing.
This demo consists of melodic presets (sequenced on iPod Touch) - there also will be a demo of Noise.io's atonal presets (sound effects, swooshes etc) and many other demos.
To tell the truth, we at Amidio are astonished ourselves by the possibilities offered by Noise.io and the simplicity of creating presets.
A neat-sounding 303-ish preset can be created and manipulated within 2 minutes - this video shows you how.
Please DO NOT distribute this video by any means (no blogging, sharing, emailing etc.) because it was first intended for our betatesters (as a quick guide to the interface).
It shows a BETA version of Noise.io and some things are already changed.
Very soon we will release the official demo video (upon the launch of Noise.io on the AppStore).
And the final question of yours might be - WHEN? :-)
As soon as it is finished. (but very soon! Subscribe to emailing list for the launch notice!).
IMPORTANT!
Instead of 25th August, Noise.io will be released a bit later - in October 2008.
We are really very very sorry about that.
We have to postpone the release due to the following reasons:
• We've introduced several huge features (such as Zones, Sequencers and many more) that were not mentioned in the initial press-release, so we're having a tough time finishing them.
• We still haven't solved a minor legal issue with Apple.
Please be assured that we're working very hard in order to make Noise.io the synth of your dreams. At the moment we can say that people will be able to use it not only for noises and sound effects, but for melodic sounds as well. In several days, we will publish the complete function guide.
This is the quick final feature list:
• 3 Generators
• 1 Advanced Double-Filter
• 6 Effects
• 3 Major Workmodes: Freenoise Mode, Controlzone Mode, Soundkey mode
• UNLIMITED Banks, Presets
• Map to Accelerometer Roll/Tilt or to Mic level
• 4 Sequencer patterns, 4 Trancegate patterns, 4 Custom parameter patterns
• Switch between patterns in realtime!
• Advanced TapBPM Function
• 2 LFO

MAKING IT SOUND
For extracting sounds Noise.io uses the Control Surface. Simply choose the preset, then slide your finger over the screen and enjoy the result!
As you move your finger over the Control Surface, the sound parameters are changed smoothly in real time, producing the sweetest noises ever.
Three control axis are available - Up/Down, Left/Right and In/Between (that's the distance between the fingers when a user makes Multi-Touch over the Control Surface).
You can also use the Accelerometer to control various sound parameters. Although tests show it's not too usable, it's quite fun nevertheless :-)
THE POSSIBILITIES
Imagine a dream synth that's at your fingertips. Noise.io is capable of producing nearly every possible kind of noise-based sound:
mechanical noises
mystic creatures
space engines
swoorls and swooshes
bizarre inventions
blasters and spindles
eerie whistles
howls and growls
intergalactic swirls
flaps and blips
seas and winds
and many, many more...
