ToyoBunko's birthday & Noise Trio
Published: November 20, 2008

Dear Noise addicts,

Today ToyoBunko - the Noise.io's designer - is celebrating his 25th birthday

We're happy to inform you that we have submitted a new app based on Noise.io's engine called Noise Trio.

It is FREE and contains 3 presets from the "Across the Kaos" soundbank.
Noise Trio contains a new feature: you can do trills on the Control Surface (with 2 fingers). This feature will soon appear in the next Noise.io update.

Noise Trio should appear in the AppStore soon.

New Noise.io contest!
Published: November 17, 2008

Dear Noise.io users,

We're happy to announce another contest!

This time, the rules are again very easy: Record a video of Noise.io in action and post it on the YouTube.

The prize fund consists of 10 Official Noise.io T-shirts ("It comes from my heart") which we're luckily able to send to any place on Earth.
Your video has to be longer that 1 minute and have decent sound quality.

So, there will be 10 (or less) winners. We'll evaluate the results on the 1st December!

1.1.3 Update available
Published: November 15, 2008

Dear Noise.io users,

1.1.3 is available now for updating.

What's new:

+ Bug fixes (thanks for reporting!)
+ Mapping parameter "Offset Scale" to Acc. Roll and Acc. Tilt does not produce any pitch changes.

We had to do this because there was too much trouble with mr. Christopher Penrose and we have neither no time nor the funds to sort it out. However, we might get back to it later.

You can still map all other parameters to accelerometer.

1.1.2 Update
Published: November 10, 2008

Dear users!
Regarding the 1.1.2 update:

It's our first update in AppStore and we were a bit of mistaken, by thinking that it would erase your banks.

So, to play with the new "Across the Kaos" bank, you have to reset your banks to factory if you want to see the new bank
(by going to Manage Presets and shaking your device)

Or, for those who do not want to reset, download the new bank from here: (this is the code for "Across the Kaos": b-7269-jgkj)

JR Hexatone Pro is available now!

Our latest "BIG" music app "JR Hexatone Pro" is finally available on the AppStore!

We developed it in collaboration with the world-renowned keyboardist and musician Jordan Rudess of Dream Theater. This is the first iPhone application released under his name.

Jordan's introduction video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5usPtRhbyBA

It is quite diffucult to describe what Hexatone is in several words simply because there’re no direct alternatives.

JR Hexatone Pro is an advanced drum machine - tool for generating all kinds of rhythms, loops, melodic sequences, drum patterns - anything that consists of samples and has some rhythmic or chaotic structure.

Factory presets demo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZ8kDVXbPXQ

JR Hexatone Pro is something totally new. There’s nothing like it, it creates sonic textures based on absolutely unique principles. It can be called a 6-channel 6-directional step sequencer with variable step length and artificial intelligence of each channel. Given that you can easily load your custom samples, you can create anything, any kind of loops, for all music styles.

Bring your iPhone to the next Good Night, States show!
Updated: July 15, 2009

This is really quite a new event in the history of music. This event has received massive press coverage on Engadget and Synthtopia.

Famous musicians "Good Night, States" supplied Noise.io a soundbank for their songs, and at their next show you can plug your iPhone or iPod into the house sound system and jam along with the group.

The first show you can officially try out this new technology will be this Friday, July 17th at Mr. Small’s (Pittsburgh), along with local rockers The Takeover UK, Vesta and Composure.

Instructions for participating are located here

Unfortunately we Amidio are situated approximately 5,000 kilometers away from Pittsburgh but maybe some of you Noise.io fans will attend it?

Noise.io Price Rise + Update plans

On the 25th of July, 2009 Noise.io officially turns one year (counting from the first weird sound extracted by the pre-alpha version)

Noise.io is still one of the most advanced apps in the AppStore, used everywhere in the world, by renowned musicians and synth enthusiasts.

Noise.io currenly has about 35,000 users (plus the pirated copies).

Given that Noise.io is the most superior synth app, and due to certain conditions, we have to rise the price to $14,99.

So, you can still get Noise.io for $8,99 before the 25th of July.

Noise.io update plans for July-August:

+ midi over wifi (finally!)
+ new filters
+ new waves
+ reworked and built-in help
+ interface updates

1.4 Out
Updated: July 6, 2009

Dear Noise.io users,

Noise.io Pro v. 1.4 which brings back sound in OS3.0 is now available from the AppStore as a free update. You can download it now. Reboot after install! If you keep on not getting any sound, delete the app from your device by long-tapping Noise.io's icon, then hitting the X sign at the top left corner of the icon, then going to AppStore and pressing on "buy" in Noise.io again (you will not be charged any money twice)

This update has a dramatic story. We fully understand the shortcomings induced by the absense of audio in OS3.0. We rewrote the main synth core and submitted the update 2 weeks before the official release of OS3.0.

However, due to the reasons we apparently will never know, it took more than a month for Apple to approve the update for one of the most popular music apps in the store. We never received any explanation.

Once again: we at Amidio, Inc. are very, very sorry for this situation. That was not our fault, but in any case we will find a way to compensate. Most probably, we will release one of our next apps with a big discount for several first days of the sales, and will let you know through another email.

By the way, our next-to-be-released-app is called Hexatone, which is the new generation drum machine.

P.S. Recently, Apple also approved our game called Hot Dancer (it has been waiting 6 months). Hot Dancer's soundtrack has been composed by Toyo Bunko with the partial usage of Noise.io. You can get Hot Dancer here.

Thanks!
