Short documentation about Record is available here

There is one little glitch in this version - the Control Zones do not change the patterns as they should - a fix for this will be released shortly as v. 1.2.1.
Sorry for that!

Noise.io Pro 1.2 Submitted to Apple
Published: December 20, 2008

Dear Noise Addicts,

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

We worked very hard to bring you this gift.

We made all we promised: record, beatmaker integration, .wav/.caf export, built-in server (with audio preview).

We even made a little more (that is overdub, and the upcoming ability to jam along with your uploaded samples. Currently, you can upload samples to the ioLibrary via server, but there's no way to choose the file directly from within Noise.io)

We did not release any other apps in this year, focusing on tailoring Noise.io Pro. That wasn't a very income-wise solution, but as you all might have understood, we're just synth enthusiasts, not finance sharks

Noise.io Pro 1.2 features

+ new Record menu
+ record to play along with
+ overdub-record
+ Save recorded material as .WAV or .CAF
+ built-in server to access your ioLibrary from PC or MAC (browser-based, no additional soft needed)
+ Direct export to Beatmaker (need Beatmaker 1.3.2, which is not released yet)
+ Improved speed, stability
+ Minor graphic changes

This new record screen is not too beautiful, but we had to make it look like this, to reserve memory (which is taken by bitmaps easily)
Maybe we'll change it later. Currently it works and it does what it says, anyway ;)

"303 Pocket Noise" will be released in the beginning of 2009.

New child in the Noise family!
Published: November 28, 2008

Amidio Inc. will release 303 Pocket Noise (name could change in future)

4-pattern 303 Emulator

+ Based on Noise.io's Pro Engine
+ 2 waveforms - saw, square
+ 4 Patterns with realtime pattern sequence programming
+ Realtime pattern editing (on loop)
+ Auto-save on quit
+ Slides, 3 octaves
+ Very simple interface: just 2 screens.
+ Modulation surface like in Noise.io Pro
+ swingy BPM
+ effects: delay, distortion
+ .wav export via built-in server (no additional programs needed)
+ direct beatmaker export (hopefully).

We need this app to be a testing playground for new features and if the features prove itself, they will be expanded quickly into Noise.io Pro.

Noise.io Pro will always remain the flagship product and will contain all the features found in smaller products.

303 Pocket Noise will be priced at $0.99 or at $1.99.

Planned date of release: middle or late December 2008.

1.1.4 - Another bug with 2.2 SW found :(
Published: November 27, 2008

Dear Noise addicts,

We were quite unhappy to notice that 2.2 iPhone software version not only slowed down the graphics on Noise.io (which was corrected in Noise.io 1.1.4), but also it almost freezes the sequencers (which we didn't notice at first).

Amidio is not responsible for that. It's the new firmware that makes the sequencers behave like this. Meanwhile, we've submitted 1.1.5 to Apple, correcting that issue, and we hope it will be accepted soon.

JR Hexatone Pro is available now!

Our latest "BIG" music app "JR Hexatone Pro" is finally available on the AppStore!

We developed it in collaboration with the world-renowned keyboardist and musician Jordan Rudess of Dream Theater. This is the first iPhone application released under his name.

Jordan's introduction video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5usPtRhbyBA

It is quite diffucult to describe what Hexatone is in several words simply because there’re no direct alternatives.

JR Hexatone Pro is an advanced drum machine - tool for generating all kinds of rhythms, loops, melodic sequences, drum patterns - anything that consists of samples and has some rhythmic or chaotic structure.

Factory presets demo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZ8kDVXbPXQ

JR Hexatone Pro is something totally new. There’s nothing like it, it creates sonic textures based on absolutely unique principles. It can be called a 6-channel 6-directional step sequencer with variable step length and artificial intelligence of each channel. Given that you can easily load your custom samples, you can create anything, any kind of loops, for all music styles.

Bring your iPhone to the next Good Night, States show!
Updated: July 15, 2009

This is really quite a new event in the history of music. This event has received massive press coverage on Engadget and Synthtopia.

Famous musicians "Good Night, States" supplied Noise.io a soundbank for their songs, and at their next show you can plug your iPhone or iPod into the house sound system and jam along with the group.

The first show you can officially try out this new technology will be this Friday, July 17th at Mr. Small’s (Pittsburgh), along with local rockers The Takeover UK, Vesta and Composure.

Instructions for participating are located here

Unfortunately we Amidio are situated approximately 5,000 kilometers away from Pittsburgh but maybe some of you Noise.io fans will attend it?

Noise.io Price Rise + Update plans

On the 25th of July, 2009 Noise.io officially turns one year (counting from the first weird sound extracted by the pre-alpha version)

Noise.io is still one of the most advanced apps in the AppStore, used everywhere in the world, by renowned musicians and synth enthusiasts.

Noise.io currenly has about 35,000 users (plus the pirated copies).

Given that Noise.io is the most superior synth app, and due to certain conditions, we have to rise the price to $14,99.

So, you can still get Noise.io for $8,99 before the 25th of July.

Noise.io update plans for July-August:

+ midi over wifi (finally!)
+ new filters
+ new waves
+ reworked and built-in help
+ interface updates

1.4 Out
Updated: July 6, 2009

Dear Noise.io users,

Noise.io Pro v. 1.4 which brings back sound in OS3.0 is now available from the AppStore as a free update. You can download it now. Reboot after install! If you keep on not getting any sound, delete the app from your device by long-tapping Noise.io's icon, then hitting the X sign at the top left corner of the icon, then going to AppStore and pressing on "buy" in Noise.io again (you will not be charged any money twice)

This update has a dramatic story. We fully understand the shortcomings induced by the absense of audio in OS3.0. We rewrote the main synth core and submitted the update 2 weeks before the official release of OS3.0.

However, due to the reasons we apparently will never know, it took more than a month for Apple to approve the update for one of the most popular music apps in the store. We never received any explanation.

Once again: we at Amidio, Inc. are very, very sorry for this situation. That was not our fault, but in any case we will find a way to compensate. Most probably, we will release one of our next apps with a big discount for several first days of the sales, and will let you know through another email.

By the way, our next-to-be-released-app is called Hexatone, which is the new generation drum machine.

P.S. Recently, Apple also approved our game called Hot Dancer (it has been waiting 6 months). Hot Dancer's soundtrack has been composed by Toyo Bunko with the partial usage of Noise.io. You can get Hot Dancer here.

Thanks!
